Copyediting and proofreading
With a sharp eye for detail my aim is to help you present your work at its best. I provide copyediting and proofreading* that respect your author’s voice while focusing on correct spelling and grammar, punctuation, style consistency and design integrity.
Where appropriate I check facts, such as names of people and places as well as dates and numbers.
If you send me a Word document I’ll use tracked changes to copyedit or proofread it, depending on your brief. If I have any questions about the text I’ll include these as comments in a separate list with the proof.
Working with pdf files is also an option, as is working in a content management system (CMS) or collaborating on cloud-based editing systems.
* If your text is already edited you might only need proofreading. Copyediting focuses additionally on style, sense, readability and more, depending on your requirement.
Translation from Dutch to English
I translate academic and general non-fiction text for documents and websites.
I’m based in the market town of Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Not so remote: you can contact me easily via email or WhatsApp.
Prices and other important details
AGREEING A PRICE
The complexity of a proofreading or copyediting job can vary from one text to another. That’s why I prefer to see a sample of your work and understand the brief before discussing the price. A preview of the job allows me to base my quote on a realistic estimate of the time the job will take to complete.
Contact me to discuss your project.
